Jalapeno Popper Spread

MAJOR yum! I followed the advice of a review and added 1/2 cup Panko to the top and baked for 30 mns at 375. It was FABULOUS! I served with butter crackers.

Strawberry Jam

We made this recipe at our Brownie meeting last night - it was easy and delicious. We made two batches: one Strawberry and one "Triple Berry Delight" (blueberry, strawberry, and raspberry). The directions were easy to follow and we were pleased with the end results.

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

This was a huge success. My husband proclaimed these the "best ever"! I didn't have red wine vinegar so used balsamic vinegar instead. Was very flavorful and easy to make.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

We loved this recipe. I especially appreciated it because I had all the ingredients on hand. It has a much better flavor than the bisquick variety. I did add a bit of vanilla, but don't think it made much of a diffference.

Loved this! It was nice and thick, and it had a sneaky kick to it. Next time, I would definitely use less cayenne pepper. I used V8 in place of the tomato juice.

Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

We loved this recipe. I didn't have boullion cubes, so added a generous spoonful of boullion granules. I also put in a can of mushrooms. We tried it over baked potatoes and biscuits...Yum! Even my finicky kids ate it.

Field Grade Spaghetti Sauce

This was a very meaty recipe. It has a unique flavor that I wasn't really crazy about, though, as my husband said it does grow on you! I would probably add more tomato paste or sauce next time, as I prefer a "saucier" sauce.

Iowa Pork Steak

Steaks were nice and moist - gravy had good flavor. Only complaint is that there was WAY too much of it! Consider paring down - I'd probably only use one can of soup and mushrooms next time.

Burrito Pie

Yum! My husband isn't crazy about Mexican food, but had 2-1/2 servings of this tasty meal! I cut the recipe in 1/2 and used 1 can of diced tomatoes with lime juice and cilantro in place of the tomatoes with chiles and the can of green chiles. I also used mild taco sauce - the result was a meal with a small amount of zip that was kid friendly.

Bacon Water Chestnut Rolls

I used someone's recommendation and dipped the water chestnuts in brown sugar before baking - YUMMY!! I dumped the cooked concoction into a crockpot to keep warm on New Year's Eve. Everyone enjoyed these!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

I made this for New Year's Eve and got lots of rave reviews!! I would consider either doubling the amount of mushrooms used, or halving the stuffing because it made way too much stuffing for the package of mushrooms I used.

Divine Spaghetti Sauce

Was a bit disappointed in the overall flavor...the aroma was wonderful. I only used one pepper (not crazy about them) and I only put in about 1/2 of the crushed red pepper flakes; using the full measurement probably would have helped. I ended up adding some salt. It does make a TON of sauce. It is a very chunky sauce, which I like, and it was a VERY hearty meal.
