About this Cook
I'm a real estate broker and loan officer yea that keeps me busy BUT when I come home I leave work at work and get in the kitchen and cook a gourmet meal from this site :). When I was single I cooked and now I just recently got married and still do the same. My husband helps when I ask but usually he just comes in the kitchen talks and start tasting the food. :)
My favorite things to cook
Gumbo, pasta and fish
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking with my uncle. My mom just stick to the basics don't get me wrong her food was good BUT my uncle was always making new things, gathering new recipes. He challenged me when I was younger to try different things that he would cook. Things like sushi, grilled trout, ceviche, tuna steak burgers, etc. Whenever I went over his house something new was cooking, drinks were flowing and family/friends were laughing. I miss him so much, thank you Uncle Chuck for all the memories in and out of the kitchen. I miss u RIP
My cooking triumphs
When my family/friends rave about a dish that is a triumph. And I must say since I found this site raves is all I get. Cheers to all the fab cooks out their who share their recipes.
My cooking tragedies
OMG, I made a seafood stew and it caused for 1/4 TEASPOON of cayanne and I put 1/4 CUP! My sister who ALWAYS put hot sauce on her food, got a bowl of stew put some hot sauce took a sip and was on fire, the cat water bowl was the closest thing to her and she started drinking it. LOL :) That happened about 15years ago and we still joke about that.

Arroz con Pollo II
I used thighs and added mushrooms. Did not use saffron or the juice from the peas. Also, one cup of beer was not enough to cook the rice so I added 1 can of chicken broth and this dish turned out fantastic. I served with plantains (yummy)
