About this Cook
In the kitchen I adore making breads and desserts...but most of the time these things have to have exact amounts or your recipe is not going to come out that well. So I am more partial to fixing main dishes and side dishes. With these you can look at a few recipes and then come up with your own unique way of making that dish. You can experiment with different things and it is really FUN!

Chicken Satay
About a month ago I ordered chicken satay at a ethnic restuarant and the flavor was kind of exotic and I loved it. I tried this recipe and it was so close to a replica of that! I am so excited that I know how to make that dish now. I think it is the curry powder that sets it aside, along with the mild hint of peanut butter. This would be great with coconut rice.

French Crepes
These turned out great. They were just like the ones my grandpa used to make for me when I was little. I made a berry sauce with blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, sugar, and lemon juice to put over the top of them. Couldn't have been better!

Kielbasa and Kidney Beans
Ok...so I tried this recipe out and here is what I did...I used red kidney beans instead of white and I eliminated the steak sauce but then used more of the other sauce ingredients (Worcestershire and apple cider vinegar) using the same amount of brown sugar that the recipe calls for. This made a little more sauce while also cutting out some of the intense sweet-flavor that everyone was mentioning. It turned out fabulous! I paired it with Brazilian White Rice, which you can find on this site and the two went together very well!
