Pretty good. I reduced the honey to about 1/4 cup and rolled the balls in more dry milk powder. Everyone loved these! =)

Chocolate Mice

Mice came out cute, but it was extremely sugary sweet. Added 2 cups of rice cereal, dry milk powder and a pinch of salt. It was still too sweet. Will not be making this again.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Not exactly like Mac Grill bread, but extremely close and very good. If you are making this by hand, be sure to proof the yeast before adding in the other ingredients.

Mom's Sushi Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
Great recipe for sushi rice, but it came out a little on the mushy side so I'm going to reduce the amount of water by just a little bit next time. One thing to note: When you initially pour in the vinegar mixture and mix the rice, it may seem overly sweet. You have to thoroughly mix the rice and then let it completely cool before using it. The flavor changes as it cools. I was scared about the sweetness at first, but after it completely cooled, I used it to make my California Maki (roll). It tasted perfect - restaurant quality sushi rice. I'm definitely keeping this recipe!

Wonderful recipe! I used coconut milk and evaporated milk rather than regular whole milk and it came out great! My hula Ohana and everyone else at the Halau holiday party loved it!

Cream Cheese Kolacky

Wonderful cookies, but here are some pointers: 1) You have to roll the dough out to 1/8" thickness or else the cookie puffs up too much and the seal on the ends will break apart. 2) The jam/preserves will run, so don't put too much on the dough. Gotta love this cookie!

Yogurt Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
A wonderful cake! I made a few modifications: butter instead of margarine, only used 1 cup of sugar, doubled the amount of lemon extract and added 1 1/2 cups of lowfat lemon yogurt. This cake was demolished within an hour of being cooled. Delicious!

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
This was AWFUL!!! Batter was too thick and too bland. The pancake texture was extreme mush and all I could taste was raw pumpkin. There wasn't any fragrant aroma of spices and no amount of maple syrup could make up for the taste. Waste of my time and money.

Hawaiian Pork Hash

Great recipe! However, I pan fried them and then steamed them (the method you use to cook Jiaozi/Gyoza/potstickers/dumplings.) They came out wonderful! Lots of compliments from the guests I served them to.

Chi Chi Dango Mochi

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
Yummy and very easy to make! I didn't have any food coloring, so I added about 1/4 teaspoon of Pandan (Screw Pine) paste. It came out with a nice flavor and very pretty shade of green. Though the sides tend to overbake and get crusty, they're just as tasty and fun to chew on. Definitely will be making this again! =)

Okonomiyaki

Disappointing. They looked nicer than they tasted. After one pancake, I got sick of it and didn't want more. I missed some of the reviews where it was stated that this recipe wasn't authentic. Had I known, I wouldn't have wasted my time on this. Will not make again.

Good recipe, but it lacked a little something. Added some vanilla and it turned out well. Didn't have fresh fruit on hand so I used strawberry jam and ice cream.

Chinese Chicken Salad III

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
Dressing was too strong, too salty. Hoisin sauce is already strong by itself and adding the peanut butter didn't make it any better. I eat hoisin sauce all the time and I think it wasn't used properly in this recipe. This would probably be better as a meat marinade or something.
