I'm a married mom of five, two teens and three young adults! We just found out that we are about to be grandparents for the first time! I love to see my family enjoying my food and I love to send "doggie bags" home with the ones that don't live here. I have two dogs and two cats, Harlee, Hunter, Critter, and Mr. Man. I cook for them too!!!
My favorite things to cook
Everything!--I love creating new recipes. I have been trying lately to write things down as I go so I can recreate it, (if it's good) so maybe I'll get some submitted soon!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making gingerbread houses every year. I never sell them, though. They are given as a gift or donated to the children's hospital, nursing home. I usually cook two Thanksgiving dinners, one here for family & friends and one at my MIL's in Alabama for everyone there. I do Christmas dinner for family as well.
I started making chili and cheesecake for Saturday night poker at my Dad's deer camp when I was ten or eleven, and kept that up until my Dad's health no longer allowed it when my own kids were early teens. I sure miss that.
My cooking triumphs
My Red Velvet cake and stuffed mushrooms. I am always asked to make them.
My cooking tragedies
My sister's wedding cake. It was my first wedding cake, and I was up all night the night before and actually missed the ceremony finishing the cake. I never completely finished, but it was still pretty and it was DELICIOUS!
