About this Cook
I am a self-taught cook. My husband and I have owned a small family style cafe for 35 years. I make the pies, quick breads, and desserts. I am always looking for new recipes to "try out" on our customers. :)
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, of course! I have been gathering information on chocolate and pastries in the past few months, trying to delve into new technics.
My cooking triumphs
It was very rewarding when I learned that people from New York were told to come to our cafe for my pies when they were in California.

Pesto
Excellent!! I keep this in my frige all the time, and use it on EVERYTHING!!! I didn't have quite enough basil the first time I made it, but it was still great! I left out the parsley, and I like the garlic just as it is!!

Pork and Bean Bread
I made this bread for our cafe and got two orders for loaves the first day... No one believes the ingredients, but everyone loves it!

White Chocolate Orange Cookies
I bake cookies for our restaurant, and every Christmas I make up a lot of trays with a wide variety of cookies. This is one recipe that I make sure each tray contains. It has also become a favorite with my family.
