About this Cook
I have two beautiful daughters that I just adore. Both of them think that I am the "world's best cook". My mother raised my brother, sister and me on her own while going to college and working. I started cooking dinner for us when I was about twelve. My mother still jokes about wondering what kind of concoction I would have on the table that night.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about any thing but my favorite areas are grilling and baking. I had always been nervous about baking until about ten years ago when I purchased a catering business. Since then I have been baking up a storm. My favorites are cookies and breads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family tradition is my grandmother's holiday cheesecake. Her recipe is not the baked type but rather a light and fluffy cheescake. Oh, how I looked forward to that after a big dinner. Now that she is gone, I have become the family cheescake maker, which is somewhat fitting as I am my grandmother's namesake.
My cooking triumphs
The most triumphant experience I have had was feeding over 700 people, split between five parties, all in one day. Of course, I could not have done it without the assistance of my wonderful staff.
My cooking tragedies
Ok, so I had to nail a red velvet cake to a tree once. But the bad thing about it was the fact that even the squirrels wouldn't eat it.

Mom's Barbeque Style Turkey
This was pretty good. The sauce had a nice flavor. The only thing I changed was no celery and I added about 1/4 cup water. I would have liked more sauce for the 4 cups turkey though.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins
These are great! I just pulled them out of the oven and couldn't resist the piping hot muffin. I did add a touch of vanilla and I doubled the blueberries. I used frozen berries and they came out just fine. The berries are evenly spread throughout the muffins. The trick is to dust the frozen berries in flour before folding into the batter. Thanks!
