About this Cook
A widow for 10 years so cooking isn't so important anymore since I'm alone and have no family - miss cooking and the satifaction and appreciation that came from it. Still love baking and do bake usually several times a week. Give to friends and church groups.
My favorite things to cook
I love casseroles and they work for 1 person with many easily heated leftovers - I also love a challenge with something new - I watch Food Network and am on this site many times a day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't have any particular traditions since it was only my husband & I - he was a cook and had a restaurant (Greek) for many years. So a compliment from him always made me proud!
My cooking triumphs
I once tackled Osso Buco and the results were amazing - it was without a doubt my best meal ever...
My cooking tragedies
The Key Lime Pie that we sipped thru a straw!!!!

Meatloaf with Fried Onions and Ranch Seasoning
I am totally amazed that so many people rated this meatloaf as the "best". I made this exactly as stated and have to say it was the most tasteless, boring meatloaf I have ever made. I have a quest to find the perfect meatloaf and thought after making hundreds that this was the "ONE". Wrong, will not make again!!! Sorry!!!

Walnut Apple Bundt Cake
Very disappointed in this recipe. I used 2 8 x 8 square pans instead of the bundt. I followed the recipe exactly and the end result was a dry, almost tasteless cake. I think if I make it again I would add 1/2 cup of applesauce and more spices to liven it up a bit!!!

Blueberry Cream Muffins
These are the best blueberry muffins ever! I followed the recipe but instead of 24 small I got 10 extra, extra large beauties. I gave these friends and all said they were the best muffins they ever tasted - one 86 year old man said they were even better than our local large grocery store with it's own bakery - now that is saying something. Thanks for this gem an I am making more today but 2 dozen small ones - I think they will go further....
