Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Great easy recipe, with a lot of flavor. I use a bag of frozen corn/onion/black beans/ and peppers- even easier! I have used raw and even frozen chicken breasts.

Dutch Potatoes

My family was a bit skeptical when I made these. However, after they took a bite, they were raving about them for the rest of the meal. I boiled the carrots for about 8 minutes before adding the potatoes. A great way to add more veggies into the mix, and everyone enjoyed the onions as well.

Sue's Hot Fudge Sauce

I made this sauce when I was craving some serious hot fudge. I thought, from the reviews, that it would be great, but found it to be lacking the intense chocolate flavor I was wanting. I even added a bit more cocoa and a handful of choc chips, as suggested by others. It was good the first night, but did not reheat well- very grainy. Will look for a different recipe next time.

Oven-Fried Pork Chops

Monkey Bread Muffins

This is the perfect recipe for a lazy morning when you don't want to spend a lot of time, but crave something sweet. My son loved helping me with these, and it was nice to have a recipe where the child can do almost everything. Thanks for an easy, yummy recipe!

Linguine with Chicken and Sauteed Vegetables

I was surprised at how delicious this was, with such few seasonings. It is a great way to use up any veggies you have, with or without meat. I added red pepper flake, and didn't use as much oil, but in general, it's great!

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins

These were very good, and beautiful muffins. I added some ground ginger, nutmeg, and a pinch of allspice. I followed the recipe, and I thought the results were great. The only comment is that the muffin was quite dense. I didn't over mix it, but it came out pretty heavy in texture. I will make again, maybe playing around with the texture. Thanks for a good recipe!

Tuscan Soup

This is a great, quick soup without a lot of ingredients. I added some chopped carrots to the onions while they were cooking, and a few dashes of hot sauce. The hot sauce really adds another level of flavor, without being too spicy. Thanks for a quick go-to recipe!

Cream Puffs

Great recipe. I have a convection oven and found that the puffs were browning a bit too much at 425 degrees, so I lowered the temp to 400 about half way through. I used a pastry bag to pipe out small mounds, and they turned out great. It was easy to simply lift off the top portion of the puff to fill with the cream. This is an impressive dessert that is simple to make, with very basic ingredients. Thanks for the recipe!

Best Brownies

Finally, the absolute perfect, luscious brownie! I made these for an open house event, and almost everyone who tried them raved about them, and wanted the recipe. The only thing I added was a splash (maybe 2 tbsp) of brewed coffee in the batter, and in the frosting. Definitely heightened the flavor. I cut them in very small squares, since they are extremely rich. They kept well for a few days, tightly covered. I wouldn't make this recipe everyday, but for special occasions, it's perfect!

Raspberry Oatmeal Bars

I made these for an open house event, and I was disappointed with the taste. I was trying to save a little time, so I went with this recipe, instead of a "from scratch" one. I could definitely tell it had an artificial taste to it. No one commented on these bars, and there were many left over. If you are looking for super easy, this is it, but not super tasty.

Sausage Casserole

This was wonderful! I sauteed the onion with the sausage, and baked the hash browns for about 35 minutes before adding the other ingredients. Also added some hot sauce (pairs great with eggs). Much better than the recipes with bread. It sliced perfectly.

Allie's Delicious Macaroni and Cheese

This was great! I've made several mac n' cheese recipes, and I think what makes this one so good is the quart of milk. Many recipes only use a couple of cups of milk, turning out dry. It turned out very creamy, even reheated. Perfect! I used Louisiana hot sauce instead of cayenne. YUM

Quick and Easy Brownies

These were just OK. I was hoping for a more intense chocolate flavor. I used high quality dutch-processed cocoa, but the flavor was just not as rich as I was hoping for. They were a bit better the next day, but I don't think I'll make them again.

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Great! I have made this twice in the past month. Once heated in the slow cooker, and once in the oven. It worked well in the slow cooker, had great flavor, but turned out a little runny. The oven gave it a better texture. Followed the recipe pretty closely. Great for a crowd, 100 times better than just mashed potatoes w/ butter and milk.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

I tried this recipe instead of a similar one that I've used before that uses water instead of the root beer. I made the mistake of not seasoning the pork before cooking it, and added salt and pepper 1/2 way through cooking time because it was very bland. Just OK. I didn't find that the root beer added any extra flavor.

Green Beans With Shallot Dressing

I made this recipe for Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit with all 16 people. Funny since the green veggie is usually overlooked on Thanksgiving!I made it in advance, re-heated and tossed w/ dressing & bacon crumbles right before serving. I added a few more pieces of bacon, to crumble on top. I'm sure I'll be making it again. Thanks!

Chocolate Pumpkin Eaters

Very good, classic rice krispie treat. The only tip I have is to dump the mixture out on a cookie sheet before you shape it into balls. Let it cool for 30 seconds to a minute. If you try to form it right away, it will not stay. The chocolate made this an extra special treat. Everyone loved them.

No-Fuss Pumpkin Cake

I made this for my son's 1st birthday, and it was a huge hit. I made him his own little pumpkin by baking the batter in a small glass bowl, coloring the icing orange, and frosted a marshmallow green for a stem.. The rest went for cupcakes. This will definitely be his cake every year. I like to bake from scratch, but this is great for a crowd.
