Frozen Strawberry Lemonade

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
I love this recipe! I am two months pregnant and the only thing that sounds good is Panera's frozen lemonade. This is an excellent homemade alternative. I used frozen strawberries. Definite keeper because it makes a great summer drink.

Taco Pizza

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
Very good pizza! I must admit that I did use another pizza crust - Jay's Signature Pizza Crust, a recipe from this site, because I only wanted to make one pizza since it is only my husband and I. I cut the cayenne pepper in half in fear that it may be too much spice for us. Once I rolled out the dough, I put some olive oil and garlic powder on it and pre-baked it for 5 minutes. I topped the pizza with lettuce, tomato and crushed Doritos after it was done baking.

Gourmet Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
I made this on a homemade pizza crust recipe I have been using for a while now, from this site. I thought the ranch dress was a too strong as a pizza sauce, but my husband loved it. I'll keep the recipe for now until I find something we can agree on.

Salsa Chicken

Very good alternative to plain white chicken breasts. I cut the recipe in half and followed it to a T. Both my husband and I loved it - a definite keeper.

No-Fuss Beef Roast

Everyone at Easter loved the Beef Roast. I cannot say anything about the recipe since I don't eat red meat, but it was unanimous that it had excellent flavor.

Strawberry Torte

Excellent flavor, super easy, and beautiful...cannot beat that!! I didn't have any problems with the lady fingers standing up. The cookies I bought were stuck together (about 5 cookies side by side)so I kept about 2 to 3 cookies stuck together and they stood up well along the side.

Bikini Martini

This was my first Martini. I was shocked by how much it smelled like a Lava Flow - my favorite drink from our honeymoon. I doubled the pineapple juice like a reviewer had suggested. It was still really strong but really good.

Too garlicy. It may be better if you cut down on the garlic.

Easter Egg Nests

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
The recipe is o.k. I would not rate them up there with the store brand when made according to the recipe. I could not help but to think that there was something missing so when I made them again I added a 1/2 tsp of vanilla and they were wonderful. Very cute easter treat if you add jelly beans and/or peeps if you make bigger nests.

King Ranch Chicken Casserole III

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Very Rich and Soupy! It is an OK recipe..I may make it again with some needed adjustments. It ended up soupy even though I dipped the tortillas in the chicken broth rather than adding the chicken broth to the soup mixture. It may have been better had I cut down on the soup a little and added more cheese.

Heavenly Health Dog Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
I have a lab with horrible food allergies. I decided to give this recipe a try. I cut out the yeast and sugar, as I was not sure how they would affect him. I also could not find the different kinds of flours so I used a gluten free flour as a substitute for both. It is too soon to tell if he will have an allergic reaction to these, but he as well as my parent's dogs loved these treats.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
Very good! We followed the recipe to a T. The only change was that the chicken was ready to shred an hour early, so it cooked for only 6 hours instead of the 7 stated in the recipe. There was a split in our house as to whether the soup was too spicy. I liked it and I don't care for real spicy food.

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
Pretty good. I do recommend using half of the half and half and using milk for the other half because I used half milk and half half and half and it ended up rich. I may even cut back on the half and half more next time. I substituted one can of minced clams for chopped clams to get a little more of a clam flavor.

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
My father wanted a banana cream pie; he said it turned out pretty well. I followed another reviewer's advice and added 3 Tbs. of corn starch to make it less runny. You do want to let the pie sit in the fridge overnight to let the tastes mesh together. I used the No Fail pie crust from this site that I have used many times before.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
I don't like lasagna personally, but my family liked it. Their only comment was that there was too much salt. I would only use 2 tsp of salt in the sauce next time instead of 1 tbs if I make it. We also added another layer on top to use up all the sauce.

Pasta Pomodoro

For a light dish, this was really good. I did not have any balsamic vinegar so I used white wine instead. It had a really light taste to the sauce. Next time I will probably add more garlic just out of personal preference.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
Much better than the frozen alternative!! I used 2 tsp. of garlic powder rather than celery seed because I didn't have any on hand and I also added a diced potato. I used the no-fail pie crust III. I baked the bottom crust for 5 minutes before filling the pie. I boiled the vegetables in water with chicken bouillon cubes. I also reduced the heat to 375 and baked for 45 minutes. Definite keeper!
