Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

My family fought over this pie. I was pleasantly surprised. My daughter sprinkled cinnamon over the apples before we put the syrup over them. We didn't do the lattice crust, but just put the 2nd store bought crust over and brushed it with an egg and cream wash. Also, we cooked it in a 9"cast iron skillet and it didn't overflow and was beautiful.

Pecan Pie V

My mother liked this but I was waiting for the jelly like consistancy of the regular pecan pie. It tasted fine, but I would probably put more pecans in it.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Definitely Awsome. I didn't make my own stuffing (I used the pre-made stuff) and I didn't add the turkey liver, but this is a keeper.

I liked this katsup, but my husband thought it tasted like BBQ sauce. I will probably make it again and decrease some of the sugar and allspice.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is probably not a fair assessment since we didn't have chocolate chips and used cinnammon chips instead - my kids opted for no chips, but it wasn't what I was expecting. It wasn't as sweet as regular chocolate chip dough.

Delicious!! My daughter used 2tsp garlic powder because we were out of fresh garlic, and she cooked it in a fry pan insead of on the grill. We loved the sauce it made.

Fabulous Fried Cabbage

Shockingly, my teen daughter liked it!! She is a very picky eater. I didn't have any broth, so I used some of the liquid from the "Slow Cooked Corned Beef for Sandwiches"

Mango Chicken Curry

We didn't have any fresh mangos, so I used 2 cans of mangos. I added sugar and the entire can of coconut milk. Probably should have only added 1 can of mangos since it made a lot of sauce, but it was delicious.

My husband loved this, but I thought it was only okay. I did substitute apple sauce for the oil and added raisins and pecans. I am hoping it will improve with age as promised.

Beef Stew VI

I loved this recipe. I am not big on beef stew because it is usually so bland. I took advice from some other reviews and put the meat in with flour, onion and garlic powders and pepper, then cooked it in a skillet. In hindsight, I shouldn't have added more pepper in the stew also. It was delicious!
