Cookies, cakes, and pies. I am trying to build up a repertoire of "real food"--not just desserts! Making southern specialties using recipes handed down from my grandmother and aunts. My first contribution to our family Thanksgiving--desserts made from scratch using family recipes. Luckily, they all turned out! I can't get the hang of rolling out cookie dough--last Christmas's gingerbread men turned out like little gingerbread blobs! Still tasted good, though!
