About this Cook
I'm a 29 year old mom and wife to the most wonderful & hardworking man I've ever known.I'm originally from Mexico grew up in Las Vegas,Nevada and now live in Texas.I've learned some new dishes since moving to Texas like carne guisada-when I heard about this I thought it was carne asada but it's more like a stew, fideo con carne, barbacoa(TX style)because Mexican barbacoa that I grew up on is totally different, and BBQ.My goal is to learn to BBQ Texas style.
My favorite things to cook
Mexican food, baking, desserts, italian, anything with cheese,I really enjoy cooking that involves getting my hands messy like making tortillas, bread,or tamales.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making tamales with my daughter for Christmas and Thanksgiving at my house
My cooking triumphs
When I made my first Thanksgiving dinner and everyone loved it.I feel so good when my family sits down together to eat dinner and we all enjoy my cooking.
My cooking tragedies
When I forgot about some oil burning on the stove and almost burned the house down.

Conchas (Mexican Sweet Bread)
I am also from Mexico and believe me when I tell you that I've had many conchas.I really didn't like this recipe and I consider myself an excellent cook and baker.I give this recipe a *** because yes they were edible but did not taste like conchas. They are very dense and nothing like this fluffy goodness of real conchas. The topping I must say was pretty good

French Bread
I REALLY LIKE THIS RECIPE.I DID LIKE ONE OF THE OTHER COOKS AND ADDED ONLY 5 1/4 C FLOUR AND PROOFED THE YEAST WITH SOME SUGAR BEFORE MIXING THE INGREDIENTS TOGETHER.THE ONLY THING I WOULD CHANGE WOULD VE TO ADD MORE SALT.THANKS FOR THE RECIPE.

Cream Cheese Pickles
I had these at a Thanksgiving luncheon and I loved them.I am going to make them for a get together and I am sure they will go fast. These appetizers are so simple and inexpensive
