Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
My family enjoyed this recipe! I have a 2 year old and decided to not add the jalapeno...too spicy. Also I do suggest only adding 1 tea. salt to the slow cooker, then once the beans are done add the salt to your liking. I thought 5 tea. of salt is way too much for this recipe. Other than that this turned out to be great in burritos. I added chopped tomatoes, chopped avacado, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and sala! Yummy!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
I thought these were pretty good. I did however think they had a cake like consistancy rather a cookie one. If you want to make them a bit more spicier, try adding 1 tea cinnamon, 1/8 tea nutmeg, 1/2 tea ginger, and 1/2 tea ground cloves to 1/2 the icing. paint on the recipes icing, then drizzle the spicire icing-its really great!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
The first time I made this it turned out aweful. Since the ratings are so high I figured I must have messed up somewhere. The second time it turned out great! I was able to shave off some time by simmering the sauce for only 40 min. I also thought 1 tabl. salt sounded way too much, so I added only 1/2 tea. salt-it turned out wonderful! Thank you for this recipe!!!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I found this recipe to be pretty good. Although any markets around me do not carry a 4 lb. roast, I did find the largest one-2.2lbs, and continued with the full recipe. Since I used a smaller roast, I will use only half the onion soup mixture next time, also I added a chopped green bell pepper. Thanks it was delicious!

These were not very good. There wasent much flavor. I would suggest adding 6 oz cream cheese, 1-1/2 tabl. chili powder, 2-3 chopped green onions, and a chopped red bell.

The Ultimate Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
I thought this was a really good chili. however I did think it was missing some spice. So next time I will try making it adding 1 diced jalapeno. Also drain the beans before adding them in the pot, Hopefully that will help the chili to not be too waterie. I also used ground turkey in place of beef.

Panzanella Salad

This was a great salad! I didnt think it would be so good since there was bread, but the bread was the best part! I do how ever recomend to sliming down the basil and red onion, they was a little strong-unless you like a lot of flavor go for it=)

Wow, this is a great way to eat broccoli! I did slim down the recipe just a little since I only had 1 head of brocc. and I didnt use the vinegar-It turned out fantastic, even my hubby liked it-he's not much of a brocc. fan. Thank you for the recipe!!!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
I thought this recipe was okay, but lacked flavor. I added 1 crushed garlic and minced basil. My hubby didnt care too much for this recipe either. It tasted too much like cream cheese, than an alfredo sauce. But dont get me wrong, it did taste pretty good, just lacked in the flavor department.

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

I must say this was one of the best recipe's for spaghetti sauce I have tried! I only used 1 onion. I also simmered for 20 min, I used 5-8 fresh basil leaves (minced) in place of the dried, and I used ground lean turkey. Thanks for this delicious sauce!!!

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Steak wa great! My local market didnt have rib eye steaks on hand, so I used in place new york strips. I used a lower sodium based soy sauce, and marinated the steaks for 1 1/2 days. I cooked them on the grill on med. low for 15 min the first side, and 10 on the other. They turned out wonderful!!!

Peach Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
This was a wonderful pie! Although it did need a few changes. I added 1 tabl. corn startch to the butter and flour mixtuer, to help with the excess of juice. I also cooked it at 400 for the first 15 min, and then at 350 for the last 30. I brushed the crust with butter to add a slight golden brown color. Also if you leave it in the oven to cool for 1 hour the juice will thicken. Thanks for the recipe its a keeper!!!
