I share a small home with my dog, Mollie and my cat, Mikie. I am an accountant for a local company and, I love my job! In my spare time, I love to go camping in the mountains with my very best friend in the world. I am active in my Church and, volunteer in a veterans' home once a month. Since I live alone and don't have company too often, I make a couple of casseroles each week and freeze them in small portions to eat for lunch and dinner. My passion, however, is baking. I love to bake fresh bread when I have time and, recently I have been trying new cookie recipes. These experiments are consumed with great pleasure by the residents of a local veterans' home when I visit and, of course by myself and my best friend-other half. My mother was the ultimate home economist. She never wasted a thing and, could make terrific meals out of any assortment of leftovers. I try to emulate her but, I don't come close! I would have to say that my fresh baked bread (from scratch - no bread machine!)is the best thing that I make. I make an oatmeal-cornmeal yeast bread that is out of this world! I don't think I have ever had a real cooking tragedy but, one time, I did enter the kitchen to find my cat on the counter calmly consuming the chicken I was just about to put into the oven to serve to guests. I threw away the chicken the cat had "gotten to" and stretched the meal somehow.
