I adore this pie crust recipes - its the only one I use for desserts. Its very easy to make (I always use my food processor) and very easy to work with. And on top of that tastes delicious. Its a keeper for sure. For someone stepping out into the world of homemade crusts I highly highly suggest this one.

Strawberry Pie II

I made this pie to use up fresh picked strawberries. I should have read more reviews, I would have learned not to mash half and leave half whole, there were far too few whole strawberries. I also could not for the life of me get the thing to set. It had an entire day to chill and was almost fully liquid. Next time I will use gelatin instead of corn starch and I won't mash nearly as many of the berries. That being said, the flavor was very good, but the over all "pie" did not work.

Butter Flaky Pie Crust

I wanted to make a pie but had no shortening on hand for the crust. I found this recipe and was excited to try it out for my strawberry pie. The flavor was excellent but the consistency was very very dense and thick, not flakey. This could very well be from my own mistake (maybe I overworked the dough? I didn't think I did). The flavor was yummy and matched my strawberry pie well but I couldn't get over the texture.

Washabinaros Chili

Ok - yum. I live in a house that loves spicy food - so this one hit the mark. The beer and coffee add a really interesting flavor (I used Uff-Da Bock) and the wasabi adds a different kind of "spice" to the chili. My only alterations were to nix the beef broth (I didn't think it was necessary/ran out of room in my pot!) and couldn't find exactly the right peppers. I had to go with poblanos and a jalapeno. Very yummy. The only thing I would change is more tomatoes- maybe throw in a can of stewed tomatoes. Besides that personal preference this was a definite 5 star recipe!

Hungarian Goulash I

VERY good. Not a five star, but definitely a solid four. My fiance grew up on his mother's goulash and- much to my dismay- I've never been able to replicate it. I learned the hard way that goulash is like paella, chili, or turkey stuffing- EVERY family has their own recipe, and THEIR's is right! Fortunately this one was tasty enough to compete with "Mom's".

Black Pasta in a Pink Gorgonzola Sauce

VERY good pasta. I had rave reviews when I made it. Some of the ingredients CAN be hard to find. However- if anyone lives near a SuperTarget I found both the squid ink pasta and the fresh basil there.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

This recipe was fantastic. I love the idea of pouring the syrup over the lattice crust- it gave the final product a wonderful, candied over top crust. Instead of doing the standard lattice top I took the time to have some fun with it. I used a maple leaf cookie cutter and covered my pie with with a little more flare. My boyfriend loves apple pie over any other dessert and gave this one rave reviews!

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

This recipe was easy and amazing. Quick to put together and cook up with fantastic results. I didn't find it too spicy at all- next time I plan to add more of the peppers.
