This was the best and easiest chicken and dumplings I have ever made. I did everything as the recipe called for but also added a few things of my own. I added baby carrots, celery, and sliced mushrooms. I also used chicken stock instead of water. And I added thyme, rosemary, and pepper. You do not need to add salt especially if you use chicken stock bc between the stock and the soup that is all the salt you need. As far as the biscuits go I add them an hour before end time. I once used 1 can of biscuits and my husband could tell the difference and suggested to stick to the 2 cans so I will. I serve along side mashed potatoes bc the gravy that the chicken and dumplings make is awesome on potatoes. My husband likes to put mashed potatoes in the bottom of a bowl and top with the chicken and dumplings and then I sprinkle a little fresh parsley on top. To die for as he says. Will def keep in the recipe box forever.
