Grilled Lemon Herb Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
These were awesome. I used my inside grill and it was so quick and simple. I let them marinade for about 4 hours but I could imagine that if you let them marinate overnight they would be even better. Very healthy and new way to serve chops. I will def put these in rotation.

Restaurant Style Egg Drop Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
This is really really good. It is so simple and so close to the real thing. I used fresh ginger instead of ground and I added pepper and red crushed pepper since they each hit different parts of your toungue the spice does not overwhelm the soup. I also added the egg after thickening the soup and I used 2 green scallions instead of chives.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
This was pretty good. I liked the way the chicken was crunchy on the outside but stayed moist on the inside. I have come to a conclusion though that I just can't make chines like the local take out. I think that I will just stick with that and use it for those nights I dont want to cook. I recently made these again and just went and got some store bought sweet n sour from the asian store and it was great. I served buffet style with asian beef skewers, cream cheese wontons, shrimp eggrolls, egg drop soup, and korean cookies and sticks dipped in choco sprinkled with almonds.. My kids are still talking about it today.

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2009
If I could give this more stars I would. This was so great and all the kids loved it which makes the recipe great in itself. I made a honey mustard dipping sauce to go with made with 1/4 cp of mayo, 1 tbl honey, 1 tbl coarse ground mustard, 1/2 tbs of regular mustard, and 1/2 tbs of lemon juice. The kids were fighting over the extra piece. I will def make again.

Pepper Pork Pockets

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
This was awesome. My kids were a little leary at first. But in the end it was a huge hit. My husband couldn't get enough. The spice from the pork and the sweetness from the garlic mayo was off the hook. I also added a little lemon juice to the dressing to give it that tartness. I will def make again.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
This was awesome. I will only make lasagna this way from now on. Not that my dad's wasn't the best and he is from Italy but this is the recipe I will hand down to my kids. I only made a couple changes and they weren't even that big. I used about 1.4 lbs of meat and I used 1.25 lbs of sweet italian sausage and instead of 28oz of crushed tomatoes I used 14oz and used 14 oz of diced italian tomatoes seasoned with garlic, basil, and oregano. I made the night before so the flavors could marry and used no boil noodles. This is def traditional italian lasagna. Nothing american about this one. It's a must try.UPDATE The no boil noodles didn't work out so well. Just use traditional noodles and use the method of soaking them in hot water for 30 min. Works for me everytime. I also only added 1 tsp of kosher salt and not a tbl, I also added about a half a palm full of crushed red pepper flakes about a tsp to offset the sweetness. My kiddos and husband can't get enough of this. This is def money. Also the secret italian thing is to add a pinch of nutmeg to any sauce and it makes it pop. Why I don't know but my dad taught me and it has never failed me.

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2009
This was pretty good. It could have used some more spices but other than that I wouldn't change a thing. I did thicken the gravy up with cornstarch and cold water. My 3 kids really enjoyed it as well.

Italian Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
This was ok. It was easy to prepare but I guess since I'm from the south I prefer good ol' bbq ribs. I know I'm italian but this just didn't appeal to me. I won't be making this again but thanks for the easy dinner. I at least got 1 night of relaxation.

Fry Bread Tacos II

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
This was awesome. I made my own toppings but used the fry bread part of the recipe and wouldn't change anything on that part. For those that found that the dough was way to sticky what I did was add about 2 tsp of evoo to the mix and it made a huge difference. I had 1 fry bread left over and sprinkled sugar and cinnamon and put whip cream on top and my kids loved it. I will def make again.

Tomato Gorgonzola Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
This was so great. My oldest son asked for tomato soup so I found this recipe and had all the ingredients and it was amazing. I added some sliced grape tomatoes with the rest of the veggies that I sauted. I also used my emersion blender and made the soup thicker rather than chunky. It tastes almost like a spaghetti meat sauce. I am going to serve it after my son's basketball game with some grilled cheese with sliced pepperoni and I figure it will have the pizza taste to it.
