Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
This is a really wonderful cake. Made it for my husbands birthday recently, he loved the cake, although not too fond of the icing. The icing is too sour. Next time I will try another icing, maybe butter creme with this cake. Thanks for a great cake recipe.

North Carolina-Style Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
Wow this is the real stuff. Lexington style BBQ. My husbands grandparents live in Lexington, NC and we eat the BBQ quite often. This is really close to the real stuff, only it is a bit too spicy for us, I think next time I will leave out some of the red pepper flakes. And if you want the real NC style BBQ, use the full amount of vinegar, I did and it is great. Made this with some of the BBQ "red" slaw and my husband loved it. Also, I did mine in the slow cooker and added 1 and 1/2 Tbsp. of liquid smoke, turned out great. Thanks for a great recipe, now we can enjoy real NC BBQ without the 2 hour drive!!!

Spicy Chili Seasoning Mix

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
I love this recipe and so does everyone who I've ever fixed it for. People ask me for the recipe all the time. Although, I have made changes to the recipe. I use all the seasonings the recipe calls for, I have changed the "soup"ingredients. I don't use the round steak, I use all ground beef. I don't use the oil. I add a can of tomato soup to make it thicker and I don't use chili beans, I use light red kidney beans. Also, I don't puree the beans, but I do run both can through a blender until they are coarsely chopped. I highly recommend this recipe.
