Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
I thought this salmon topping was delicious. I will use a better cut of salmon next time. I was only cooking for 2 so I halved the recipe. Next time I will try and coat both sides of the fish and see how it turns out on a grill.

Golden Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
This was so simple and delicious. The only change I made was that I added a cup of corn to the soup. I always have these items on hand (except for the ham but it's good without it anyway.)This recipe was quick and simple just what you need for a busy house hold!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
These were so good. They were soft and moist on the inside. The only complaint was that the icing did not stay on the cookies, it dribbled off. I would make a divot hole in the cookies next time so that the icing stays on the top.

Cheese Ravioli with Pumpkin Sage Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
This was delicious. It was not to strong in pumpkin flavor so I could serve it to my fiance ( who thinks he hates pumpkin) I made it with with homemade pumpkin ricotta ravioli, a recipe on this site and they went great together. Unfortunately the ravioli was way to time consuming and I will probably not make them again but the sauce I will definitely be making it again.

Pumpkin Ravioli

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
These were delicious. I only gave it four star because it took a lot of effort to make these. I used a pumpkin sage sauce that I had found on this website and it went well with these. I will use the sauce again but I don't have the time to make ravioli so I will not be making these again

Marinated Spicy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
I don't know what went wrong with this, I did half the recipe because I wasn't cooking for 8 people. It was way to salty and did not have a good after taste.

Vietnamese Salad Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
I love salad rools and decided it was time to try them at home. It wasn't as hard as I thought. I used this recipe as a base but I left out the basil and added julienned cucumer like the restaurants. I love hoisin as the dipping sauce but I do not usually add any water. Sometimes if I have some on hand I will dip in peanut sauce which is just as delicious.

Sweet and Sour Pork Patties

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
These were delicious. I made homemade sweet and sour sauce from the all recipes website called sweet and sour sauce II. I made the meat as meatballs instead of patties. I also baked them for a less fatty version. I added some green peppers and onions to the sauce and meat balls and served it over rice.

Bacon Asparagus Pizza

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
This was amazing!! Like one of the other reviews said, fight the temptation to add sauce. It really does not need any. I used the Valentino's pizza crust recipe from this website. I used 8 pieces of bacon, only 1/2 cup of goat cheese, and sprinkled 1 tbsp of basil on top of everything before going into the oven.

Jamaican Beef Patties

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
These were great! I didn't have a big problem with the dough to filling ratio. I rolled the dough really thin so that I could fill it with a bit more. It made six pastries. I had enough mixture leftover for about 1 more pastrie but I just ate the left over because it was so delicious. I never have shortnening in the house and usually substitute butter but I put some bacon fat instead and it was made them so good. Ialso changed up a bit of the spices in the meat mixture. I used red curry and added a tsp if all spice instead of salt.

West Coast Cod and Shrimp

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
This was quite good. It was a little bland so I had to add some extra spices. I don't like to use that much cream either so I used 1 cup cream and 1/2 cup milk. I used 2 tbsp of corn starch to thinken the extra milk. I sauteed 1/2 cup onionand I had to add an extra tbsp of dill and a tbsp of garlic powder. I mixed 1 tbsp of parmesan cheese into the cream mixture and then topped it off in the end with another tbsp of parmesan.

Asparagus with Blue Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
This was delicious!! I don't usually have evaporated milk in the house so I used 1/4 cup milk mixed with 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch. I used 2 tbsp of blue cheese because I like a sronger flavor of the cheese.

Campbell's® Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
This was an awesome and easy recipe! I did make some changes as always. I only used 1 can of soup and I am happy I did or this recipe would have been more of a soup than a casserole. I used 1/2 cup milk. I put 1/2 cup cheese into the casserole.I didn't have the french onions so I put 1 cup chopped onions into the casserole itself and then topped it off with 1 cup cheese and 1 cup bread crumbs.

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
At first I thought of how to make this by putting it on the grill but There is just no way to save the juices to make the gravy. It was absolutly fantastic. My fiance loves blue cheese and he took his first bite and said Oh my god! I thougt someting was wrong but it was just him loving the dish so much. I don't usually have whip cream in my fridge so I used 1 cup milk mixed with 2 tsps of corn starch so that it would thicken.

Pork Apple Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
These burgers were so delicious that no matter how full I was I could not stop eating them. I changed the recipe slightly. I only had 1 pound of ground pork but I did not half the recipe. I did not add the egg (didn't have one but with all the sauce in the meat it stuck together pretty well. Just don't push down on the meat well it is cooking.) I topped my burgers with tomato, lettuce, the pineapple, cheddar cheese, mayo, and bbq sauce. So good!

Pizza Dip

This dip is delicious! I don't like olives so I left them out. Instead I used mushrooms and green peppers. You can really add anything that you like on a pizza.

Maple-Garlic Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
The flavor was good but I found the marinade to be quite runny and it didn't want to stay on the porkchops. The flavor was not through out every bite but may be I didn't marinade it long enough. I replace the sesame oil with olive oil. Next time I think I will try using garlic powder because it will thicken the sauce a little and the garlic flavor will mix in better to the sauce.

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

This is a delicious salad! I did make a couple changes. I only used 1/4 olive oil and I didn't add the minced onion. I cut the recipe down because I was only cooking for 2.

Grilled Lamb with Brown Sugar Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
This was very simple, yet very good. It had subtle hints of sweetness. I was a little worried of the spice mix sticking to the meat and not the grill but it turned out fine. I only used 2 lambchops but still used the same amount of spices. I kept sprinkling little amounts on when I flipped the meat.

Delicious Apple Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
I thought this was delicious and so simple. I played with the measurements a bit because of other peoples reviews but I ended up in the end adding the same amount as it called for in the recipe. I did triple the recipe as well. My best advise is to add the ingredients a bit at a time until you find the flavor that you desire.
