Easy Bake Cookies
Nephew's Birthday cake
About this Cook
Three kids aged 2-10. I'm working as a CDAC nurse. So between kids, work, and hubby, I prefer to find shortcuts on making everything.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and make candies. My best family memories involve food of some sort so I'm always making something to give the neighbors or take to work or have friends over. The kids always take the "cool" snacks to school and my husband complains that I'm trying to fatten him up for the holiday dinner.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My sisters and I used to make cut-out cookies together. Now I get with my husbands' family and we make tons of candy and anise (yuck) cookies that take all day. I love Thanksgiving and Christmas. I make most of the meal myself but it's nice having everyone enjoying the food and having a good time.
My cooking triumphs
I made my mothers' wedding cake 2 years ago. Last month I made apple turnovers with real puff pastry. Yummy.
My cooking tragedies
I don't recall any real tragedies. I forgot I was grilling burges once and I brought in 2-inch charcoal briquets...and left a note saying I was going to buy lunch. The first thing I ever made was choc. chip cookies and I added 2 whole eggs-including the shell.

Arkansas Green Beans
None of us cared for these. Way too sweet, and DH didn't like all the soy sauce. He thought they were supposed to be a chinese recipe. Too bad, because I really had high hopes, and this makes a LOT.

Perfect Sesame Chicken
This wasn't anything special, really. And I ended up with the majority of the sauce left. I can't imagine using that much sauce for each serving. The batter wasn't on the chicken at all, so I added 1/4 c. flour which made for a very light, very thin breading. Only my eldest thought it was great, but he'll eat about anything. I guess if you're not real picky, that this is fine. It is a lot of time and work for ordinary though.

Sweet Potato French Toast
I've been making this recipe for a long time, it's in the Sneaky Chef cookbook. All three kids eat it without complaint, and it does taste good. The picky hubby however doesn't like it simply because you can see an orange color. I only use cinnamon and vanilla.
