About this Cook
I love to cook and stay busy. Been doing both pretty much my whole life!
My favorite things to cook
Anything new or particularly tasty, something exotic or different. Asian and Italian foods are my favorite, but I love a wide variety of things, especially if it's healthy, which is a huge bonus.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Learning to cook with my mom when I was little, and now I get to steal all her recipes, even the secret ones (but no sharing those!), and teach my friends to cook or host dinner parties.
My cooking triumphs
When stuff comes out the way it's supposed to and it actually tastes good! Especially desserts, which are my favorite to make.
My cooking tragedies
When food comes out bad, which, thank goodness, isn't too often =] I haven't lit my kitchen on fire or anything of that sort.

Nanaimo Bars III
These were amazing. I mixed the first layer ingredients as instructed, except omitted the egg and baked at 350 for 10 minutes. I added the 2nd layer, then refrigerated, then the top layer when the middle was hard and cold. No double boiler! They went over really well and everyone loved them.

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread
These were fantastic. I made them the recipe's way the first time, and the second time subbed out 1/4 cup flour for 1/4 cup finely ground pecans. Divine.

Decorator Frosting
This frosting is absolutely incredible. Everyone is asking me for the recipe! It's soft on the inside but hard enough to stack on the outside. And sweet, but not toooo sweet. I made it with pecan shortbreads.
