Cooking at home...
About this Cook
I work full time and I am out of town for work approximately 2-3 nights per week. On the weekend, I enjoy cooking all day either making meals for the week ahead or baking. I have three children and I have been married for almost 18 years.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making Mexican and Asian dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Having my kids help me make a holiday meal.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime my family says "good dinner".
My cooking tragedies
Making my first turkey for Thanksgiving and dating my husband. I had put on false nails, but he didn't know they were false until I took the turkey out of the oven to baste it and it slid in the pan making me lose my grip. I tried to grab the pan but my nails all popped off and the turkey went to the floor. The cat jumped in and my "now" husband and I had a good laugh.

Wonderful Banana Cake
Excellent cake! Very easy and very moist. I used three bananas instead of two and it still turned out great!

Three-Meat Stromboli
This recipe is very similar to one I already use. It is very good but I like to serve my stomboli with spaghetti sauce on the side for dipping. I also roll out the bread dough into a rectangle, slice the edges into strips and put the filling down the center of the dough. I then take the strips and braid them over the top of the filling to make a braided loaf.

Green Hot Sauce (Salsa Verde)
This was delicious. It made quite a bit, and since I was the only one eating it, I had quite a bit left over, even after a couple of days of snacking. I added the remaining salsa to chili I made later in the week, and my husband loved it. I also roasted the tomatillos, over my gas burner, to add smoky flavor to the salsa.
