I once tried to cook a pasta with beef and tomato sauce for a girlfriend, and used over a pound (lb) of ground beef. No matter how hard I tried you could not add flavor to it, the beef literally sucked everything in and wouldn't let go. I've never made anything so bland, and I doubt I can ever make a worse dish. That was probably my third ever attempt at cooking. A lesson in 'ingredient amounts' was taught that day.
