About this Cook
I'm a mom to five (ages 12 to 1) who has never had a more rewarding job than taking care of my family. Now that I'm in my 40's, I feel like I'm ready to tackle anything in the kitchen, or at least give it a try.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake desserts but I try to keep that to a minimum because good nutrition good eating habits are also very important to me. I'm always on the lookout for quick, easy, nutritious meals and snacks.
My favorite family cooking traditions
EATING DINNER TOGETHER EVERY NIGHT! My mother would leave instructions for me and my sisters so we could have dinner ready when she finished teaching piano lessons and when my dad got home from work.

Caramel Oatmeal Pudding Cookies
Here are some tips from myself and other reviewers: increase oats to 3.5 to 4 cups, add teaspoon vanilla, let cookies cool in a cold place (not on the warm kitchen counter), and make sure you use 5 fl. oz. of milk and not the whole 12 oz. can. I used chocolate pudding (yes it makes it very sweet) but I think any flavor would be good in this cookie. A very good no-bake recipe.

Roasted Red Pepper Tapenade
I'm not familiar with what tapenade should taste like so I have no point of reference for this recipe. That said, I loved the flavor of this tapenade and so did my family. We ate it on round crackers. I didn't measure the ingredients which would explain why mine was a little too "juicy". I think I'll try draining the peppers and artichokes a little better too. I'll definitely be making this again as it is great for a quick and easy appetizer thanks to my food processor.

Hot Cocoa Mix
Absolutely fabulous!! I used the exact ingredients but obviously the measurements can be altered and still produce wonderful results. I cut the recipe in half and only roughly measured the ingredients. My test cup tasted great even though I thought 1/3 cup of mix would be too much. It was perfect for a small cup of cocoa.
