Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
WOW!!! This is soooo good!!! I just got done making this and it is fabulous--my husband even said it's better than his mom's. The only change I made was mashing the bananas and adding some cinnamon, nutmeg, and ground cloves. I also dusted the pan and top of the loaf with cinnamon and sugar. Thanks for the recipe!!

Greek Pasta Salad with Shrimp, Tomatoes, Zucchini, Peppers, and Feta

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
It was a hot day so I didn't want to start the oven to roast the veggies so I used chopped cucumbers, red peppers, celery, red onion, and halved grape tomatoes. Otherwise I followed the rest exactly. This was really delicious and my husband also raved about it. I was skeptical about the dijon dressing for it but it is really perfect! This recipe would also be good with another type of meat besides shrimp.

Pretzel Turtles

These are good using the round pretzels and then instead of a pecan, stick an M&M on top.

Fruit Dip II

Yummy! It didn't make as much as I thought it would so I folded in 2 or 3 cups of Cool Whip and it fluffed it up and tasted great.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

I've had this many times as written and it is wonderful! It's also good if you use Craisins and/or add some shredded cheese such as cheddar.

Beer Margaritas

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
When I made these my husband thought I was crazy but he ended up thinking they were the best margaritas he's ever tasted. I got this recipe from my mother-in-law and the only difference was that instead of 12 oz. of water, her recipe called for 12 oz. of lemon-lime soda in place of that. Very good!!!

These are REALLY addictive! My husband likes to make these and he always uses dried beef. You better make a lot because they go fast!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
I made this using shrimp and it was very good! I just added the shrimp to the sauce at the end until it was heated through. I've also made it as written with chicken and it is delicious that way as well. I love how the sauce tastes. Sometimes I add mushrooms to it which tastes great.

Caribbean-Style Chicken Salad

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
I used canned chicken breast and shred it apart because I was too lazy to grill. I substituted avocado because I didn't have any jicama and I also added chopped red onion. I just poured all the dressing over it and mixed it together. This is absolutely delicious and makes a great light and refreshing dinner on a warm day. I'll be eating this all summer!

Caramel Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
I've had people tell me these are the best bars of any kind that they've ever had, and I agree! I double the recipe for a 9x13 pan and they are a perfect size and thickness. I use two bags of the already unwrapped caramel pieces (usually in the baking aisle) and those save a lot of time. Thank you for a great recipe--these are so good!!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
I just made this today for a dinner I'm going to tonight and oh my gosh is it ever GOOD!! I used blackberries instead of raspberries because they were cheaper, lower sugar strawberry preserves, a little lime juice, and honey. I didn't use any of the sugars and it was plenty sweet. I also bought the new cinnamon Sun Chips to save time and those are fabulous with this. I'll be making this A LOT!!

Garden Veggie Pizza Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
I made this as an appetizer on Christmas Eve to go with our many soups and my family loved it! I used two tubes of the crescent rolls and they fit perfectly in my large cookie sheet. I would suggest making more of the cream cheese mixture if you do this though. Mine was spread a little thin. For my veggies I cheated and filled a to go container from my grocery store's deli area salad bar since some of the chopping was already done. I used broccoli, cauliflower, red peppers, purple cabbage, shredded carrots, and green onions. Then I put shredded cheddar cheese over top. Press everything down to make sure it sticks in the cream cheese and also cool the crust completely before you put anything on it. Thanks for a very good recipe!!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
These cookies are very good!! I made them to send to my husband who is serving overseas. I used butter instead of margarine and I added an extra 1/2 c. of oats. I used Bob's Red Mill organic rolled oats because they are more hearty than the regular quick-cooking oats. I also baked them on parchment paper which I think makes nicer cookies. This is a great recipe and the cookies are yummy!

Hummus III

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2007
This hummus is sooo good!! I did use some suggestions from other reviews. I used about 1/2 cup of the juice from the beans to thin it and make it creamier, added some cumin and red pepper flakes, and used a little less tahini. I didn't add the oil on top just to make it a little healthier. I dipped cucumbers, carrots, and toasted pita triangles into it. I can't believe how good it is and I will be making this often!!!

Fantastic Black Bean Chili

This is really yummy! My husband loves it. I use two cans of Rotel tomatoes and add a little salsa, too. I also add a little brown sugar so it's not so "acidy" and adding a can of corn is really good, too. Thanks for the yummy recipe!

Bagel Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
This is such good dip! My husband loves it and makes it often, too. Every time we take it anywhere, people rave. We don't add MSG because that's ridiculous. It tastes great without it and the dried beef adds plenty of salt. And you can cut down on the dill a little and we use chopped dried onion. With two packages of bagels, there's still a little dip left so maybe 2 1/2 packages would be better. We usually do plain and wheat.

Horseradish Deviled Eggs

These are excellent. I found I needed a little more mayo and a tad bit of sugar because I like a little sweetness in the filling. They are really good and everyone couldn't stop eating them.
