Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
I hate to say it but I really didn't enjoy this recipe. The glaze is somewhat similar to KK doughnuts but the actual doughnut itself doesn't taste remotly like KK. I have tried this recipe twice and each time the doughnuts puff up niely but they aren't fluffy and airy like those yummy bakery douhnuts. The texture is similar to those chinese sweet rolls.

Breadsticks with Parmesan Butter

Reviewed: May 10, 2008
You need to make these! The texture is amazing! Soft and chewy breadsticks! My only suggestion is to add garlic powder or some other seasoning to the breadsticks if you plan to make these without the butter sauce. They are a bit bland without anything. This is the best breadstick recipe on this site.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2008
ok cookie however I like the "best chocolate chip cookies" recipe on this site a lot more (the 2nd top rated). Don't get me wrong these are good cookies, but i prefer crispy outsides and super moist chewy middles. These came out very soft and a bit fluffy/cakey on the inside but did flatten out a bit and the edges were a tad crisp. I added a tsp salt and used white choc pudding mix.

Rachel's Snappy Balsamic Dressing

I didn't really like this dressing. It was very vinegary. The fennel was a wonderful touch though.

Paula's Bread Sticks

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
Yum, this recipe turned out wonderfully with some slight changes! I made this recipe the traditional way w/out a bread machine by proofing yeast w/ 1 tbs honey and warm water for about 10mins. Then added the rest of the ingredients (I cup of flour at a time until elastic), kneaded the dough for about 6-8 mins and let it rise until doubled. Changes: • I made these into 12 large sweet rolls instead of breadsticks. Since the dough is pretty sweet I didn’t add any additional sugar, I just left out the seeds. If you are making breadsticks I'd decrease the sugar to 2-3 tbs. and you might want to try adding some garlic, oregano, and onion powder to the dough to make it really tasty. • The trick to getting a crunchy exterior is by spraying the dough with oil before baking. You will get a better texture if you use bread four instead of all-purpose (although, all-purpose still works well). If you are still getting a tough breadstick try decreasing the sugar (sugar competes with the yeast for liquid), and/or increase the butter to 4 tbs). Wonderful recipe besides those small changes!!!

Dennis' Honey-Mustard Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2008
I love this dressing! It beats any honey mustard dressing you will buy or try on this site- the seasoning's make a huge difference, most of the other dressings are missings something. Some tips: 1. The type/brand of mustard makes a huge difference. My favorite is grey poupon's course ground dijon mustard. 2. I also use light mayo (kraft or hellmans). 3. You can also sub 1/4-1/2 the mayo with olive oil for a slightly different taste. 4. I also add garlic powder..around a Tablespoon because I love garlic! Fresh garlic would be even better but I'm lazy.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
While these cookies are very good I made some slight changes to really make them tasty! 1. increase salt to 3/4-1 tsp (brings out the other flavors) 2. increase vanilla to 2 1/2-3 tsp

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
These rolls were pretty good. Make sure you allow the dough to rise for the whole two hours (for those w/out a bread machine). I also found that it tastes much better if you roll the dough out very thin. I was surprised the final product wasn't sweeter. I may increase the sugar next time.

Pizza Pan Oatmeal Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2007
ok..a little bland I think it needs a little cinnamon/cloves/nutmeg and salt. I made it with 1/2 light butter and splenda for the white sugar, which made it turn out more like a muffin/bread like texture rather than a crispy moist cookie. Still good tho.

My new fav recipe! I love it!! Thanks for posting this. a couple things: 1. Don't grill it, use a electric skillet instead 2. add baking powder (1/2 tsp) 3. mix garlic powder in with the dough on the 2nd kneed 4. you only need to place on the skillet for a min or two, dont worry about it not being done in the middle, it will be!
