I'm married with "big" kids and one cat. I started cooking when my mom went back to work when I was 10 years old. I learned to cook "southern style" but have learned to convert southern traditional cooking and baking into healthier dishes. Baking is my favorite but since moving to Texas I've enjoyed perfecting authentic Tex-mex dishes. Every occasion is an occasion to feed someone! (Happy, sad... there's a dish for all of it!) I worked in a bakery while in college. The first time I was allowed to decorate a cake that was actually ordered by a customer was a highlight. It was the beginning of my baking "career." I am known for dutifully watching my baking, deciding that it needs "just one more minute" and then completely forgetting about it until I smell something burning.
