I was born in 1940...that's simply too many years on the planet to tell it all!
My favorite things to cook
Many.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Two favorite dishes my mom made; they were nourishing, and they were also inexpensive & quick -- all three of which she required -- and I don't think either of the two are available anymore.
(#1.) Fried calf's brains. (She always served them with scrambled eggs.)
(#2.) Fried cornmeal mush patties. (She bought a preformed log, and sliced the log into patties.)
My cooking triumphs
Most everything I attempt, is a success (not tryin' to brag, it's just the truth); however, I've certainly made up for it -- big time -- now and then! (For a chuckle, see "Cooking Tragedies", below.)
My cooking tragedies
I am a huge garlic lover; it was an experiment I tried in 1965, when I was in my mid-twenties. It smelled really bad --- and tasted even worse! I dubbed it: "GARLIC COFFEE" (!?!) :oP
Don't ask (LOL)...it was very funny, and my mother never let me live it down! :o)
