About this Cook
Recently moved to the east coast to be with the love of my life, which has put a real strain on my cooking style since he does not have the same taste for food that I have. It is a challenge, but I will prevail!
My favorite things to cook
Italian, anything italian! I love breakfast any time of day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Before I moved to VA, I lived near all my siblings and every Christmas morning it was our tradition to have Christmas brunch at my house after exchanging gifts. I made a feast every year including quiches, orange glazed ham, several breakfast casseroles, cinnamon rolls....
My cooking triumphs
I started cooking the family meals by or before age 13, simply out of necessity (my mother just didn't have the gift!) I won a few cooking contests while still in elementary school (that was kind of exciting for a kid!). I think my biggest triumph would be my nephews wedding...I volunteered to cater the reception of 150 guests with only the help of my boyfriend....we received a standing ovation afterward!
My cooking tragedies
Too many to count!

Refreshing Cucumber Salad
This was a delicious recipe! I used my food processer to slice everything, I used 1/2 mayo, 1/2 sour cream and added fresh dill. My husband and son had seconds, which says it all!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I
I followed this recipe exactly. The crispy texture was to die for but I thought they were a little too sweet for me. I am going to play with it a little more to get the flavor right for me, thinking 1 cup chocolate chips, 1 cup raisins might do the trick for me. If you like a crispy cookie, this is right on the money! Also, I rolled my cookies into balls then flattened onto parchment paper, baked 15 mins.

The Best Meatballs
Oh wow, these were fantastic! I only had ground beef and italian sausage on hand, followed others advice of using milk instead of water. I baked instead of frying. These morsels turned out better than I had hoped! Perfect for meatball subs, yay!
