I'm a mom of two boys. I work full time as an ophthalmic photgrapher so I need easy, fresh recipes that my kids will gobble up. I went to culinary school about 15 years ago. The skills I learned there have enabled me to be more creative and adventerous with my meal planning. I'm willing to try just about anything and I always appreciate any recipe that I can make with the simple basics I have in my pantry.
My favorite things to cook
I love Japanese, self taught sushi chef :) SOUP!! even in summer, I'll serve it chilled. Chicken, sometimes I think I might grow a beak and some feathers. Grilled anything....recently found the wonder that is brining...amazing for chicken breasts...Homemade salsas...I make up to ten different types.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up in an eclectic household...my Mother is Mexican and my Father is Swedish..both are amazing cooks and are definately my inspiration.
My cooking triumphs
Doing Thanksgiving for 26!! Catering most of my family parties.
My cooking tragedies
I was 18, it was my boyfriends birthday. I decided to make him a birthday cake from scratch. Everything was fine, till I got to the frosting....the confectioners sugar was infested with black ants...being inexperinced and desperate for a frosting I used it anyways.....note* black ants taste like pepper rolled in Tabasco....it was a disaster...
