Cranberry-Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
Because of the high ratings I chose this recipe as a bake sale item at work. I wanted something new and interesting, yet promising. I wasn't quite sure how the texture would be when I saw the review that it would be "cake-like" I was a little nervous. After baking my first batch, I tried a cookie and my was it delicious. I will be making these again in the future.

Egg Drop Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
It would've been better with less chicken bouillons. I think next time I'll just use one instead of four. Even after I added another 1/2 to 3/4 cup of water it was still too salty for me. I remember when I was a kid and sick, my mom would make this soup for me, but the only seasonings she used were salt, LOTS of black pepper, and some ginger. Yum!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
My boyfriend loved it, I loved it, that's all that matters. I didn't have chicken stock on hand, so I used water and added 2 chicken boullions instead. I also added 2 celery stalks, a carrot, half of a large onion, and 1 can of cream of chicken soup (instead of 2). I will be making this again, especially during this cold season coming up. A tip I got from my cook book, I used 2 cups of the cooking liquid from the slowcooker and heat that up in a sauce pan. I also added 1/4 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of cool water, mixed that well and added to the sauce pan until bubbly to make a gravy.

Becki's Oven Barbecue Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
Very very tasty. Like everyone else, I used less ketchup, substituted onion powder w/ garlic powder, and also added the chili powder, soy sauce, and hot sauce. I will highly likely make this sauce again when I have drumsticks, thighs, and wings.

Maryland Crab Cakes II

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
Oh my are these delightful! It's my first time making crab cakes and they were easier than I thought they would be. I also liked that I can cook it in my oven instead of a skillet. I followed the recipe as it was except for the ground mustard, didn't have any so I used regular yellow mustard, still good though. Also, my patties didn't turn out as nice as the pictures on here, but they still stuck together and tasted delicious. I made the Cilantro-Lime Mayonnaise sauce also from this site to go along with it.

This is the second pesto recipe I've tried on here and so far it's the best one yet.

Lower Fat Banana Bread I

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
I followed the recipe as it was and it turned out beautiful! It's my first time baking from scratch, so I am pretty excited it turned out well. My oldest sister makes delicious banana bread, but I wanted to try a lighter version and this one was it. I will add nuts to it next time because I've had banana bread with nuts before and they go so well with it.

Hot Curried Tuna Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
I reviewed this recipe as soon as I made it for the first time. I followed the directions as they were and it was delicious. That very same day, I made it again for a late night snack, but this time I used whole wheat toast and made it into a sandwich instead of open faced, also I didn't add the cheese as the tuna itself was good enough. I didn't bake it either, but I did toast the bread before adding the tuna. Other than that, I used the same ingredients and I am honestly addicted to this recipe...I can eat it any time of the day. =)

Sour Cream Burgers

I didn't change a thing and the burgers were delicious. I only left it in the fridge for 30-45 minutes because I was starving. Next time I will plan ahead and leave it in there longer.

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

I don't know, I thought this dish would be really good, but for some reason it was too vinegary for me. That was all I could taste. I will not be making this again.

Savory Chicken Breasts

It was something different and very good. I thought it was just a teeny tiny salty, but I'm pretty sure that's something that can be fixed, no problem. I will definitely make this again, my boyfriend loved it.

Bacon Cabbage Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
I grew up eating this dish. Growing up on a budget, my mom would prepare this meal for us because it was cheap and quick. The only difference was we'd use black pepper and maybe a little salt for the cabbage. Tasty meal.

Very close to the best. I made this for a family birthday and it was a hit. I followed the recipe as followed. Later that week I made a much smaller version of it for dinner and although I didn't have time to leave it in the fridge it was still good.

Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce

Pretty good. The only thing I changed was instead of celery salt I used garlic salt because I didn't have that on hand. I would definitely make this for my next work function, I think everyone will really enjoy it. It's great for a dipping sauce. Thanks for sharing!

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
Delicious and very satisfying! It's so simple to make. The flavors go so well together. I can taste each flavor on its own along with the texture of the sauce. I used whole wheat spaghetti instead of udon, also used about 2 tbs of crunchy peanut butter so I didn't have to add the peanuts at the end, and added grilled chicken. I will make this again and again.
