About this Cook
My name is Tibby; I'm 15 & I love good food! My parents are super busy so for many years we've had very basic and quite tasteless meals that my dad prepared in a hurry - so last year I decided to take over, and now I'm making most of our dinners. I love discovering simple recipes that are full of flavor (and with affordable ingredients!), and on this website I've found several of those. And the best feeling EVER is to add a new recipe to my recipe book, and know that I'll be using it for the rest of my life.
My favorite things to cook
I love Indian food... it's a real challenge :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
The Sunday pancakse. We haven't had those in a while but when I was a kid, we'd have our pancakes with cottage cheese and peaches every Sunday, without fail.
My cooking triumphs
Triumphs? Oh, I dunno. Probably a dinner I invented on the spot, which made the family say, "Wow! Where'd you find the recipe?"
My cooking tragedies
When I was making carrot soup and the blender exploded in my hands :P

Rosy's Palak Paneer
This was good, but there was an ingredient missing. Maybe my modifications were at fault? But I doubt it. I used margarine for ghee, about 3 tablespoons of ginger, only half of the required tomato paste, only 1/2 tsp salt (though I think 1 tsp would have been better), only about 3/4 cups water, fresh spinach, and chicken instead of paneer. With all these modifications you might blame me for thinking the recipe wasn't perfect, but really, there was something missing in the spices. It tasted great but next time I'll experiment with perhaps some curry and coconut cream. Thanks for a great base recipe though!

Creamy Rice Pudding
With a couple of modifications, this tasted great. I only used 1/8 cup sugar and next time I'll make it even less - the raisins really sweeten it! I'll also add more milk and let it become much creamier since it was a pretty thick pudding, but very yummy anyway. Thanks - this was a quick, easy and healthy dessert to fix up while preparing lunch!

Creamed Cabbage Soup
Very nice soup :) I added a cup of chicken broth after reading reviews and it was just perfect. Also used all 2% milk instead of cream, and I only had thin ham slices so I just chopped these in squares (had about 1 and 1/2 cups) and it was very yummy. Only used 1/2 tsp salt, too. Oh and I used 4 small carrots since they're healthy and yummy. Thanks for the great recipe - a very good way to use those cabbages!
