I am a hard working girl in AZ. I am currently going to school for psychology while working full time. I don't have a lot of time to cook so I usually will prepare the night before (mainly chopping, marinating etc.) while making a meal for that night also. I have loved to cook since I was a little girl but it wasn't till recently that I started experimenting and stepping out of my confort zone. Baking is my favorite, the stove and I have a love/hate relationship but hopefully we will work things out soon! Other than cooking, I like to wakeboard, read, decorate, hike, and having "Gilmore Girls" nights with my friends (There is always a lot of food invoved!).
My favorite things to cook
I like to make cakes just so I can decorate them! My faveorite foods are biscuits and Gravy, Chicken Pot Pie, Broccoli Chicken Alfredo, Bacon wrapped smokies and many more! I like to cook just about anything, and if it doesn't turn out right I will try again.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have a huge family dinner with our grandparents, cousins etc. about every other Sunday. It almost feels like thanksgiving there is so much food. One week we will have it themed mexican food, then Italian and so on. It is wonderful to see what everyone comes up with and to swap recipes. I hope that I can find a recipe that will blow them all away!
My cooking triumphs
I am really good at making cakes and anything to do with chicken. I made a chocolate cake with the satiny chocolate glaze from this site, I added chocolate covered strawberries and everyone loved it. I am all about presentation, whatever it is that I am serving has to look good.
My cooking tragedies
I have had plenty but if looks or tastes bad I will not serve it. One time my friend and I were making baked teriyaki chicken. Someone called us and told us that we only had half an hour to come pick up something that we had called about. we figured the chicken would be fine, it had to cook about that long anyways. We forgot to calculate drive time and so when we got home to check on our dish, it was burnt and the sauce resembled tar. It was gross! I made the recipe again (staying home this time) and it turned out well.
