I am in my mid-twenties and have just graduated from university. I have recently moved back to Ottawa, ON to work and live. I love experimenting in the kitchen and am particularly partial to spicy foods! I have lived in France and love French cooking. In addition, I am interested in Indian, Thai, Mexican, Spanish, Italian and basically any other type of cooking! I love to bake and am becoming more experimental with cakes and cake decorating. Recently I have discovered the joys of royal icing and food colouring gels! I grew up learning to cook traditional east coast fare and turkey dinners! This was great experience for me because my mother and aunts are wonderful cooks and certainly know how to cook for large crowds. I was also given free reign in baking in our house and have tried my hand at everything from yeasted baked goods to pies, cookies and cakes. I once made four desserts for my mother's birthday party. They included two kinds of bar cookies plus a citrus cheesecake topped with fruit and a butter pecan birthday cake topped with cinnamon buttercream. My family was delighted! I have had some major and minor cooking tragedies! I can't cook rice properly to save my life!
