This was just OK. I might make again but it certainly is not something that people will rave over.

I made it for Thanksgiving dinner this year, the only thing I added to the recipe was pancetta, but this is GREAT as is.

These are great, follow the exact recipe, use Ghiardelli chips and add just a dash more oil.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
I would rate this 3.5 if I could. I definately suggest the chicken broth and cook the contents until it has a syrup texture. I might make this again and add a little brown sugar perhaps to cut the bitterness or a bay leaf to cut the acid. I also used a very good balsamic vinegar , and served with rice.

Creamy Hot Cocoa

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
WOW!!!! Good bye Swiss Miss, and HELLO to this recipe. I did follow some advise. I did cut the sugar to a little less than 1/2 cup and I used Ghiardelli unsweetened cocoa. Once you try Ghiardelli, its tough to use anything else, I even use it for my Brownie mix. I doubt I will ever buy packets again. Thanks for this fabulous recipe!!!!

Yummy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
Not as yummy, it tasted like a pork chop salad, I actually gave it 2 stars because it was something different and edible, however this recipe is not for my tastebuds, nor that of the 4 other people that tried this in my household. Sorry.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
WOW WOW WOW This was fantastic, once I followed the most suggested of reviews, I used 3/4 cup oil, and 1/2 c. applesauce, Increased the amounts of vanilla and cinnamon by one tsp.I also used 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 white. For the frosting, 3c. of powdered sugar was fine for my liking. I tested this recipe today to make for Easter and I am SURE that it will be a hit. Oh, also I used 2-9inch cake rounds and the cake was done in just under 40 minutes ( about 37 )

Pennsylvania Coal Region Barbecue

This is a great alternative to purchasing those overpriced sloppy joe packets, especially when most households have most of these ingredients in the house anyway. I did add more brown sugar, and ketchup. The good thing about this recipe is that you can add more ingredients if needed once you taste it, and customize it. I think I have seen the last time that I purchase the packets, Thanks!!

Artichoke Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
I followed the advice from other users, I used 2 12oz jars of marinated artichokes which was a great idea for 2 reasons , 2 -oz jars would have NOT been enough and unmarinated would have made it very bland, HOWEVER the marinade also gave it a slight bitter taste. I cut down on the bread crumb and added 3 tbsp of milk to the egg mixture. It was good, but not great. I would love to hear from others for ways to cut down on the bitterness. Oh, I also sauted 1/2 of an oniom along with the garlic and added pepper to the egg batter.

Pork Tenderloin in Bourbon

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2008
I followed the suggestion from a few people, first, I did not have Bourbon, so I substitued balsamic vinegar, it was GREAT!!!!!! I did cook it longer than indicated. 45 minutes was was too short for these tenderloin pieces. I cooked it at 325 for 1 and a half hours for 2 and 1/4 tenderloin.

Split Pea Soup

Very good for first attempt at split pea soup. I will definately do this again. The only difference is that I added one bay leaf as I normally do with all my soups, and used college inn chicken broth instead of water.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
I have to say this recipe was very good. I made a 4 lb meatloaf and there were no leftovers ( 5 people ). I did follow a few suggestions from other reviewers. I used the 2 complete packs of onion soup mix I did not sift out the powder but remember I made 4 lbs so with this much meat it was not salty at all. I definately lined the pan with bread. It made clean up quick and easy. I also used the glaze of ketchup, honey and wostershire which was a perfect glaze to this meatloaf. Next time I make this recipe, I will use 1 less egg. I found the mixture way too soft and had to add more ritz crackers. Everyone loved this recipe and I WILL do this again. Thanks for this great recipe.

Parmesan Spinach Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
These were excellent. I wanted to try this before superbowl sunday. I took the advice from other reviews, and sauteed the scallions along with minced garlic in the butter. The garlic was a BIG plus to this recipe. Next time I will add less bread crumbs. Also, do NOT make the mistake of overcooking these. I took the out after 15 minutes, they were perfect, I then kept them on warm in the oven and they became too hard and not as good.

Sauerbraten IV

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
This was a very good recipe. I did read the reviews prior to making this recipe, one person said it had a heavy vinegar taste and it did after cooking it for the suggested amount of time therefore I added salt and another 30 minutes to the cook time and it was great.
