I am a beginner cook who is freshly out of college and has been married for a little over one year. I am currently teaching english as a second language in China. But will continue my education by going for my masters in Music Composition.
My favorite things to cook
I found these to be great meals during my first years on my own.Shepherd's Pie, Mexican dishes, Lasagna, Chicken/Turkey/Beef with Potatoes and Veggies, oh the many trials and triumphs! And of course Amish Friendship Bread was a blast in college! Yum!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our famous ladies baking weekend. My mother has 8 sisters and most of them would get together each year in November (during hunting season) and would exchange baking ideas. We would make turtles, tons of cookies, pecan sandies, and oh so many great things!
My cooking triumphs
To few to list right now...am practicing more
My cooking tragedies
To many to list right now..am practicing more. Okay maybe one...one night I was making lasagna and I accidentally put cloves into the recipe instead of oregano! My husband could tell something was different and it wasn't until I went back to the kitchen that I found the cloves container on the counter! That's why it tasted sweet?!?
