I learned to cook from some VERY authentic Louisiana cooks. I also came up with a lot on my own. I live in Colorado now, since hurricane Katrina. I try to make our new home feel like our old one every way possible. Food is a great way to do it! I love to cook spicy dishes. Cajun and Creole (no, they are NOT the same thing), Greek, Italian, and Mexican are all things I tend to excel at. Sunday was always spent at Maw Maw's house, and everyone gathered in the kitchen because that is where the good stuff was. I won over my Husband and Father in Law who were spoiled by one of the best cooks in Louisiana (and that is saying something). And as if that weren't enough, I even won over said cook....to have someone who is such a great cook tell me how great my food is is quite an accomplishment! I had a disaster of a curry dish several years ago. It was the first time I cooked for a guy I was dating, and from then on he told everyone what a bad cook I was and wouldn't try anything else I made no matter what.
