About this Cook
I am a busy working new mom. Up until recently, I've dabbled in cooking. Although my cooking isn't too bad, I mainly relied on eating out and frozen entrees. Now that I have a little girl whose starting to eat real food, I feel the need to cook healthy, nutritious and delicious meals for us.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy baking anything. Current faves are asian, italian and mexican. I also enjoy making soups/stews in the slow cooker. I would love to learn more mediterrean and indian styles, too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
No traditions yet
My cooking triumphs
I make really good lasagna and a mean chili.
My cooking tragedies
There are so many, where to begin...

Mushroom Blue Cheese Turkey Burgers
these are really good. I used the stovetop based on other reviewers and tried the frequent basting, they came out very juicy. I used swiss because that's all I had and it was very good. I think this will replace my other turkey burger recipe. The only thing I noticed was there was no heat recommendation. I used medium heat so they could cook longer without burning.

Stuffed Peppers
Really great recipe for a busy weeknight if you make the meat mixture ahead of time. You could probably even make a large batch and freeze in portions. I used brown rice and added some crushed red pepper for a little kick. All I had to do that night was blanch my peppers for 10 mins, stuff 'em and bake 'em.

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon
Yummy! I left mine to marinate overnight on salmon. It came out really well. I'm excited to try this again on tilapia.
