About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
i'm still trying to build up a repertoire of foods that i enjoy cooking. i like to stick to vegetarian and some fish dishes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother was a horrible cook. I aspire to do better than mum ^_^
My cooking triumphs
I cooked something, and no one choked to death.
My cooking tragedies
Finding a good indian curry recipe is INCREDIBLY hard. They always end up tasting really shallow and missing "something". There are thousands of them on this site though and next time i'll avoid any that have one or two "i love curry but this was lacking..." comments because i know exactly what they mean. Got any good ones?!?!

Winter Lentil Vegetable Soup
This soup is incredibly good! I myself made some changes, but it was an excellent start for a newbie to lentil soup! I omitted curry powder (maybe next time), had no tomatoes of any kind other than paste (oh i wish i had, they would have been great), and used some cauliflower and red skinned potatoes. I also used fresh herbs instead of dried, but either is quite good. Delicious!

Tofu Keema
Despite my love of both curries and tofu, i found this dish lacking "something". It was spicy but incredibly bland (how do you manage that?). I added a bit of veggie broth as suggested; i honestly did not see how you could eat it without. I would NOT make this again!
