My kitty and me
About this Cook
I am an IS professional...and my job isn't very creative (artistically speaking), which is why I love to express myself in the kitchen. I am married and have three cats.
My favorite things to cook
My ultimate passion is baking. I love to try new desserts and I like to bring my goodies to work with me!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My father always makes a big batch of chocolate chip cookies, and they are the best -- it's the perfect pick-me-up. My mother is a fabulous cook; she makes everything from scratch and would always create the best birthday dinners for us! This is a tradition that I want to keep when I have my own children.
My cooking triumphs
I am always very proud of myself when my father comments on how good something is -- he is a very picky person! I was also glad when I successfully cooked dinner for all of my in-laws, around 20 people :)
My cooking tragedies
My husband and I had the most wonderful baked blueberry french toast at a B&B on our honeymoon. The weekend that we got home I thought that it would be nostalgic to recreate the recipe, except that it turned out terrible! My husband was kind and started eating it, but when I realized that it wasn't good I told him to stop eating and we ordered pizza.

Cracked Sugar Cookies I
These were the best sugar cookies that I have tasted. I couldn't stop eating them. My father and husband thought that they were great too. I rolled the cookies in pink sugar before baking, and they turned out so pretty. I think that this is the cookie recipe that I will use for my cookie swap this Christmas. One word of advice: work quickly, because the dough tends to dry out. Maybe try covering dough with wax paper or a damp paper towel in between trays.

Nutty Stuffed Mushrooms
these weren't too bad, but not my favorite. they were not crunchy like I expected, but they were still tasty and my guests enjoyed them.
