About this Cook
I'm a 6th grade L.A. teacher. My husband is retired USAF and now teaches at the Aviation campus at Middle Georgia College. I have two children, a daughter who's a freshman in college, and a 15 year old son. I love my children more than anything, but look forward to becoming an "empty nester" (hopefully as sceduled). : )
My favorite things to cook
I love to use my crock pot, especially soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up on the standard southern meat and potatoes diet. BLAH! My mom did make some mean fried potatoes though.
My cooking triumphs
Tortilla soup!!!
My cooking tragedies
My homemade bisquits are always a tragedy, at least compared to my sister-in-law's fluffy, perfect creations.

Simple Taco Soup
This really hit the spot. I used a can of Rotel's lime juice and cilantro flavored tomatoes (bought at Food Lion)...and the Hunts fire roasted stewed tomatoes. It had a great flavor without being too spicy. YUM! I also added half a can of beef broth to make it more soupy. This recipe is a keeper!

Tasted too much of the lemon rinds.

Cranberry Fruit Relish
I added pecans, and it was delicious! Also, it's even better left over. I recommend making it a day or two before it's served. It's so much better than canned cranberry sauce and not that hard to make.
