About this Cook
I'm a 6th grade L.A. teacher. My husband is retired USAF and now teaches at the Aviation campus at Middle Georgia College. I have two children, a daughter who's a freshman in college, and a 15 year old son. I love my children more than anything, but look forward to becoming an "empty nester" (hopefully as sceduled). : )
My favorite things to cook
I love to use my crock pot, especially soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up on the standard southern meat and potatoes diet. BLAH! My mom did make some mean fried potatoes though.
My cooking triumphs
Tortilla soup!!!
My cooking tragedies
My homemade bisquits are always a tragedy, at least compared to my sister-in-law's fluffy, perfect creations.

Blackberry Cobbler II
Oh my gosh!!! My dinner guests and I all agreed that this was the best blackberry cobbler we'd ever had. I served it with homemade whipped cream, which was a hit too. = )

Holiday Chicken Salad
This chicken salad is delicious! I taste tested a little bite on a cracker, and ended up going through half a roll of ritz crackers before finally putting the chicken salad in the fridge to chill. So much for letting the flavors meld together; it was already yummy. :o) I almost forgot to mention that I toasted the pecans under the broiler for a few minutes before putting them in the salad. Oh, and I just realized that I forgot to put in the green pepper...oh well.

Filipino Lumpia
I used low-sodium soy sauce, but will definately use regular next time. This just isn't a good recipe to modify the sodium on. Go ahead and splurge!
