About this Cook
My cooking tragedies
Trying to cook Prime Rib. I had 2 because I got them for a really good sale price. I love Prime Rib but had never cooked one myself. I have them out on the counter in the pans ready to go in the oven. I inserted thermometers. One of the thermometers was glass (it said oven proof). When I stuck it down in the middle of the meat I slightly turned it so I could read the thermometer through the oven glass. Well the darn thing broke and all that red stuff leaked into the middle of this beautiful prime rib. It was the largest of the two prime ribs and I had a ton of company on their way. I was devistated. The prime rib smelled like lighter fluid. Quickly I grabbed a knife and cut out the entire center of the meat to get rid of the red stuff. I managed to save most of the prime rib by tieing the two pieces together and still cooked it. It turned out wonderful.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad
I made this recipe and took it to a family get together at the Bay House. Even people that did not like brocolli loved this. I am making it again tonight for guests.

Jagerschnitzel
I made this for our Friday night dinner party only because we have a ton of pork cutlets in the freezer and I wanted to use them up. Three of my guests were german and loved it. This was a hit with everyone.

Chocolate-Drizzled Cherry Bars
I made this the night before a party and found that the chocolate does not melt well in the microwave or on the stove top very well. The chocolate should probably be melted in a double boiler. I never could get the chocolate to drizzle.
