About this Cook
I love to bake and cook meals. Mom had me preparing whole chickens when I was 8. I have children and they especially love the desserts!
My favorite things to cook
I make a killer pound cake. I understand what I need to do to make it the perfect texture inside and the chewy crust outside. I also make a lot of middle eastern dishes - my rice rocks! In another life, I'd like to go to cooking school.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Dolma on Thanksgiving!! I know, it's weird. It has to be there next to the turkey though or it's just not the same.
My cooking triumphs
I get the best compliments from the office. The "chef" over there loved the Amy's cilantro sauce I made so much - she took it home to have with her fish. Another office mate said she never eats anything anyone brings in - but my food because she is never disappointed. The boss came rushing up to me ranting over the sour cream coffee cake, I thought he was mad at me at first but he was just freaking out at how good it was. Whew! :0)
My cooking tragedies
Oh, we all have those. I've burnt cookies... I've cooked pancakes on my fancy griddle and they were uncooked inside (griddle too hot). I've forgotten baking soda... I still don't have the art of bread making down. I need more practice - and more time. But I will conquer challah bread yet!

Peanut Butter Fruit Dip
I thought it was pretty tasty. The kids, believe it or not - weren't that impressed. Hm. Thanks.

Feta and Olive Meatballs
The flavors were nice. I had them with Amy's Cilantroe sauce. It needed something like that to make this complete. Thanks for the recipe.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken
This was pretty good. I enjoyed it more the next day for lunch! It made a lot of sauce and went well with rice. The kids liked it too. Thanks for the recipe.
