About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday traditions where each member of the family makes a dish they love. Somehow the meal seems perfect and in order no matter how different the dishes are.
My cooking triumphs
I made a german chocolate cake from scratch right when I was first learning to bake on my own. The layers were close to perfect and the frosting was scrumptious. Even the people who ate it said it was a good cake.
My cooking tragedies
Well, the first time I made macaroni and cheese I forgot about draining the water from the noodles. My parents and brothers ate some anyway to be polite even while I was in tears over the "soup".

Homemade Vanilla
I love this recipe. I will never buy vanilla from the store again. I only had two vanilla beans when I first started and it had an ok flavor. It took quite a while to get a fuller vanilla flavor. Next time I will defineatly use more beans and play with the varieties to develop my own flavor. For now the only problem I have is finding little jars to use to give some vanilla to people who would appreciate it.

Perfect Pressure Cooker Pot Roast
The meat turned out great, nice and tender and in such short time! This is a truly easy recipe. I can't decide if I liked the flavor combo of ranch and italian, but I am used to a simpler flavor with my roast. I also added carrots, potatoes and onion and the result was wonderful. I will definately try this again.
