I have always liked baking. Growing up, my younger brother and I used to bake cakes, cupcakes, and cookies from the box. Now I've become a baker "from scratch" and my brother no longer likes baking with me =(. I'm becoming more adventurous with my cooking. I have to give some credit to my good friend. She is a natural and always encourages me to do everything from scratch! I pretty much like everything, especially baking because there are less pans to wash! Also because I get to use my new Kitchen Aid professional mixer. My mom is a great cook. She cooks many traditional Mexican dishes. I've learned how to cook some of her dishes, but I don't make them often enough to have become really good at it. Haitian Mac & Cheese! The recipe came from my mother-in-law. I've been told mine is better than some of the aunts in my husband's family! Vegetarian Lasagna! I made it for the first time and served it to our out-of-town guests. It was so soggy, but the guests smiled and said it was delicious. I knew they were just trying to make me feel good! If it wasn't for the garlic bread, I would have thought I was eating lasagna soup.
