About this Cook
Let see, I'm a wife and mother of a 2 yr old. I was born and raised in New Hampshire and here I have stayed. I've attempted to move out several times but it's never seemed to actually happen. I love to cook and I have to be slightly imaginative with my cooking as my husband does not like veggies (who doesn't like veggies???). I do, I could eat them all day. I'm a relatively healthy eater, he is not. I love him to death but he makes cooking difficult.
My favorite things to cook
How bout everything?
My favorite family cooking traditions
I guess my only real family cooking tradition is on Thanksgiving and Christmas where everyone brings a pie. I make mine w/premade crusts (see cooking tragedy)
My cooking triumphs
Bread. For years I didn't make bread because it just seemed to complicated. This year I decided to bite the bullet and make some. I now make bread every week and I've been asked several times to make it for gift baskets and for get-together's. One of my best friends even asked me to make rolls for her Wedding in September because she wants fresh baked bread. This is going to be my first bulk 'order' so we will see how it goes. I'm very excited though!
My cooking tragedies
Pie crusts. I cannot make a piecrust to save my life. ther is always something inedible about the pie crusts that i've attempted to make. I've always been able to just whip up anything. I see a recipe, I make it, It comes out great. Pie crusts elude me somehow. It's my baking shame.

Mom's Warm Milk
my goodness this was delicious! My 3 yr old loved it and so did I. I really didn't expect it to be so good. It's now my new favorite before-bed drink.

Spaghetti Carbonara II
This was incredibly delicious. I didn't change a thing. I used reisling for the wine and I definitely think that it is a 'must' step instead of optional to use the wine, it just gives it that extra depth of flavor. It fairly easy as well so it will definitely be going in the make again pile.

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup
So so good and so easy! I too boiled the tomatoes until the skins split so they were easier to take off. I also didn't exactly puree mine since my blender burned out, but I did use a mixer which meant that I still had chunks, but that was actually a good thing. It felt heartier with the chunks. This is now my new go-to tomato soup recipe.
