Thanksgiving Pic
About this Cook
I find cooking an endless improving work. It's a challenge to try new things with 5 kids running around and a picky-eater husband. It's very enjoyable. I also enjoy photography, reading, and art.
My favorite things to cook
Spaghetti, goulash, shrimp alfredo, tacos, baked potatoes (off this site), and I'm trying to learn how to bake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have a special cookie we make for Christmas. We got the recipe from our mother (deceased). It's some kind of german cookie and it just tastes like Christmas. Also for Thanksgiving we try one new dish along with our traditional favorites
My cooking triumphs
My spaghetti is my FAVORITE dish - I'm so happy I have it down pat.
My cooking tragedies
Oh this list is endless.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies
These are absolutely amazing. I followed other's advice and added orange juice instead of water. These literally melted in my mouth! My new favorite ginger cookie - it's a keeper!

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies
Very good! Mine had the consisency of peanut butter cookies which I loved and I adored the rolling around in cinnamon sugar! Something the kids can help make! And they taste great also! Great recipe! I'm keeping this one!

Blackberry Cobbler II
This was very good! I would say if you are using wild and very tart berries go ahead and use the total amount of sugar recommended here. I also used a 9 x 13 baking dish as I didn't have an iron skillet and I might make a little more topping next time. My kids loved it and I enjoyed it also. Good combo of tart and sweet!
