About this Cook
I am a wife and mom of two who loves to cook and peruse recipes. I enjoy gourmet and ethnic foods, but my family can be picky and so I don't cook as diverse as I'd like to. So my palate sometimes has to wait until date night out with hubby!! I am much more a cook than baker, but I'm branching out lately with good results in cookies and cakes from this website.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite type of food is Asian flavors such as Chinese and Thai. I'm slowly breaking in my family and they have been really good with trying new things I cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am primarily of Polish and Hungarian descent. Growing up, I loved my Grandma's City Chicken (the one on this website is great!) and sausage with sauerkraut. I haven't been brave enough to try homemade pierogies yet.
My cooking triumphs
Most things I cook turn out really well. I think my best are my ribs, stir fries, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables, and I make a really good red beans and rice (hubby lived in Louisiana for a number of years and approves).
My cooking tragedies
My mother in law makes a great zucchini pie that I just can't get right no matter how I try. I once made a cherry pie that had a disgusting, gelatinous filling (after I hand-pitted all those fresh cherries). And when I was a newlywed, I made ratatouille wontons that were oily and nasty.

Raspberry Lemon Muffins
Let me preface this review by saying that I hate lowfat baked goods. But, this recipe sounded pretty promising, so I tried it, and I am so glad I did. These are moist, flavorful, and I'll definitely make them again. Try them, you won't be disappointed. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Rice-so-Nice
I love this recipe; it's easy and delicious. My only modification is using fresh mushrooms. Try this, you will be very pleased.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin
I really wanted to love this recipe because it's so easy and how bad can wine and gravy mix be? I was disappointed in the flavor of the sauce as well as the consistency; I had to boil it for a few minutes to get it to a decent consistency after I removed from the oven. The color of the meat from the red wine was also unappealing. Thank you for sharing, but I won't be making this again.
