Ultimate Maple Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Don't know what happened, but my cookies came out kind of dry and crumbly. I also had to press them down before baking, otherwise they stayed in a ball, and did not really spread out and crack like they were supposed to. Did not remind me of the snickerdoodles I had as a kid. Won't make these again.

French Onion Dip From Scratch

Reviewed: May 28, 2009
Easy to make and yummy. I had never though about making my own onion dip before...I usually buy the powdered mix. This is much better, and got lots of compliments at the cookout I took it to. My house smelled like onions for a few days though.

Frosted Banana Bars

Very good. Like others have said, more of a cake than a bar.

Turkey Noodle Soup

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
It's your basic turkey noodle soup. Came out pretty good. I think the addition of the gravy mix added some nice flavor. I made a big batch and froze some, and it reheated well later.

Lower Fat Banana Bread II

This was moist and pretty tasty. Not the best I've ever had but good for a lower fat version.

Everyone loved it. The frosting was delicious. I added some toasted almonds to the top as well.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
5 teaspoons of milk was perfect consistency for me. One batch of this decorated about 2 dozen medium sized cookies. I dipped the tops of the cookies and let the excess drip off, and they came out beautiful. Very easy. Put sprinkles/decorations on right away because the frosting starts to dry pretty quickly. (Though it took overnight to harden completely). Very shiny, pretty frosting.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
These came out good, though I thought they were maybe a little bland and even a tad dry. But with sugary icing on top, they were good. Once I got the hang of it, I was able to roll/cut the dough easily. They baked up nicely.

Brownie Chocolate Chip Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
I never knew cheesecake could be so easy to make. The brownie bottom made it extra easy, and it was soooo delicious. I left out the choco chips, and added caramel sundae topping for the finish. It was a perfect complement to the cheesecake. Will make this again.

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2008
This did not work out well for me. First it was hard to spread around the pan because the greased pan prevented it from staying in one place. Then the edges were too thin so got burnt, and the middle was sort of soggy. In the end it reminded me of a pizza crepe. The only reason I didn't give it one star is because it actually tasted ok. My 2 year old gobbled it up. I won't make again though.

I have made these a couple times now and they are soooo easy and delicious. And they are impressive because they look gourmet. Will continue making these.

Buttercream Frosting

I really wasn't crazy about this recipe. Too sweet (and I like sweet) and not buttery enough. Not what I was looking for.

Very good. I pureed the garlic/oil mixture in the food processor and rubbed on the pork. Smelled and tasted delicious.

Fennel Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
So easy and delicious. I get organic fruits/vegs delivered to my door, and my box contained fennel this week. I have never cooked with it before and decided to try this recipe. I only used 1 fennel bulb, and added cubed potato to bulk it up. I pureed some of it so that it had a creamy texture but still contained chunks of fennel and potato. I just ate 3 bowls.....I will make this again!

Simple Ranch Chicken Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
I doubled everything in the recipe except for the ranch dressing (still used 1 packet), and thought the ranch flavor was perfect. Might've been too strong as written in the recipe. I left out the chicken, and added some halved cherry tomatoes. A nice twist on classic macaroni salad. I will definitely make this again!

Sweet Potato-Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2008
I thought this was delicious and easy. I cooked the sweet potato in the microwave, then just scooped out the flesh and mashed it in. I left out the BBQ sauce altogether, and the meatloaf didn't come out mushy at all (as others mentioned). I will make this again.

Baked Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
I improvised a little and these were delicious. I cooked the chicken right in the pan before adding the veggies, then added fresh mushrooms and frozen peas/carrot dices. The sauce was tasty and light, and they baked up nice and crispy.
